Air Man Can’t be DefeatedAugust 13th, 2008

I’m about a year late on this one, but this is the catchiest song. In fact, I sung and hummed the notes the entire time I was on vacation last week. The video has an 8-bit flavor that I just find so nostalgic. It’s by a Japanese band called Team Nekokan.

Watch this:

There is no direct translation for the title, Airman Ga Taosenai. Freely translated into English it’s closest to “Air Man Can’t be Defeated” or “I cannot beat Air Man” The video directly references the art styles of Rock Man 2 on the Famicom, better known to the U.S. as Mega Man 2 on the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Keep an eye on the official blog for the band; new videos are listed there first even though you more than likely can’t read it.

Tick, tock. Tick, tock.August 5th, 2008

I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the news. Chrono Trigger will be released this winter on the Nintendo DS! I am really looking forward to playing though it again. This is one of the games I still own the original cartridge for, and cherish.

Japanese reports say the game will remain in it’s 2D form as played on the original 1995 Super Nintendo version, unlike the recent Final Fantasy remakes that were done in 3D. It will have additional enhancements as well. The game will reportedly make use of both screens and the touch capabilities. For game play, there is a new area not in the previous version and an added multiplayer mode as well.

Are you ok? Ok. Sit back up, get a glass of water and check out the trailer. Memories…

I wonder if it will contain the animated cut scenes from the 1999 Playstation remake that was only released in Japan? Ok Square! Let’s see a port of The Secret of Mana now! Please?
